Daily Excess Reimbursement Insurance

Just come acroos this from those people at insurance4carhire. Daily Excess Reimbursement Insurance Apparently most car rental companies charge an Excess when you have an accident – sometimes as high as £1,000. Often they will offer to sell you their own Excess insurance, but buying over the counter can cost you up to £12 per day.

Their policy is only £4.50 per day and offers full protection. What’s more, they even provide cover for window and tyre damage, excluded from most alternative policies.

It works like this.. They insure the Policy Holder, not the rental vehicle. Excess is a voluntary insurance. Decline the car rental company’s Excess cover at the counter when you collect the car. If the car is damaged or stolen, the car rental company will charge your credit card for the Excess amount and you then claim for reimbursement on your Policy.

Sounds like a great idea if you are renting a car for a few days, talking of renting and great bargains.....are you planning your holiday yet? There is a great selection of self catering holiday rental lettings at jmlvillas.com Take a look for yourself.

I rented a car when I did my trip to Buenos Aires apartment. Renting a car everywhere is the best idea.
