Dutch and Spanish car hire excess insurance sites launched

Halo Insurance the company behind the car hire excess insurance and van hire excess insurance iCarhireinsurance.com  have just launched a Dutch language and Spanish language site.Insurance Insight's report said that The Spanish site, known as aseguramicochedealquiler.es (insure my rental car) and the Dutch site, huurautoverzekering.com (car hire insurance) will offer a similar coverage to that available in the UK, but with a website more tailored for the specific markets. All Halo products in Europe are underwritten by Chubb Insurance.

Ernesto Suarez, Halo founder and chief executive, said: "Spain has one of the largest markets for rental cars in Europe, and whilst Holland has a smaller population, they tend to be well travelled, and hire a lot of cars. After our success in the UK and Germany, these countries were the next logical step in our expansion plans."

He added: "Consumers are beginning to wake up to the fact that rental companies are charging a fortune at the rental desk for excess cover that can be bought significantly cheaper elsewhere.
